How to dress when there is no place to dress
Have you noticed that the phrase "she dresses well" does not specify where exactly she dresses? While in our daily worries "what to wear" is certainly present this insidious "where".…

Skirt and outerwear: what should be longer

Thanks to the comments to the previous post, it turned out that the issue with the length of dresses and skirts, which may (or may not) exceed the length of outerwear, is not completely closed yet. In General, there is no problem: it can. Wear boldly long dresses and skirts with a parka or coat below the hip (knee). And culottes, too. And even evening dresses. But there are a couple of nuances. We look at many examples and only two rules.

Rule number 1. Almost everything looks good, except for a relatively short pencil skirt (knee-length or higher) with an even shorter coat or raincoat that is tightly belted. Like this:

The longer the skirt and the looser the belt is tied (and better without it at all), the nobler the silhouette.

Rule number 2. For a set with a long skirt and a spacious top (parka, coat, sheepskin coat), you need to choose shoes with a clear shape. Biker boots with a spacious top, which dangles a thin leg, will not work here. In them the whole image will resemble a village worker:

Seven hundred ninety six
Suitable boots with tractor soles, ankle boots, loafers, oxfords, sneakers, shoes. And for those who have well, very beautiful boots (and thin legs) – this is just one of the rare cases to attach them well, partially covering the tops with a skirt. Only compare in the mirror, so that it looks like the examples that I will give below, and not on the campaign poster above (there, as you can see, are also boots under the skirt. But the image of Anna Wintour, it seems, does not look like).

All, look at the pictures. Let’s start with evening dresses combined with a mid-thigh coat or parka. If you will be strongly recommended to wrap yourself in a mink stole on the occasion of the publication in a long dress, silently show photos of Dina Abdulaziz, the main fashionista of the Middle East, the Princess and the editor-in-chief of Vogue Arabia. She, poor thing, somehow manages with a woolen coat (well, one of them is richly decorated with fur, but it is a coat, not a fur coat or a Bolero) and a parka.

And others don’t feel awkward without a boa either:

And examples in a less solemn setting. A skirt or dress can be longer than an outer garment by half a meter or a couple of centimeters, straight or lush, made of light or dense fabric. There are also culottes that resemble a MIDI skirt. As always, we are not afraid of bare feet, we mentally imagine tight tights, leggings, skinny jeans (all this under the skirt, of course).

How to wear socks and tights: advanced level
While the weather is nice and cool and dry, it's time to get sweaters and coats. And shoes on the contrary, do not remove. And in order not to freeze…
